And hubby is sure he saw one a few years back running low through the tall grass while he was taking our dog for a walk. YIKES! I saw a dozen turkeys once.

As for World Kindness Day. A wonderful thought, but it's kind of like broccoli on Mars isn't it? :)

Hugs to you and yours.Bish Denhamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13359927719391990534noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2910901195415494293.post-77137021921023234312008-11-13T21:51:00.000-07:002008-11-13T21:51:00.000-07:00Adrienne -- Yeah, they were all going up the hill....Adrienne -- Yeah, they were all going up the hill. I counted at least 22 of them today. We have them in the yard quite often, but I think this group is a mixture of some chicks we had this summer. They're getting really big!

Kim -- Isn't it funny all the unofficial holidays and celebrations they have? I mean, there's a day for everything. I think the 14th is National American Teddy Bear Day as well as Loosen Up, Liven Up Day. LOL!

Nora -- That's cool you see coyotes in the city. We had a big dry river behind our house in CA and everynight we'd hear the coyotes down there yipping. Not sure if that's what I heard this morning, but it was definitely not a dog. It sounded more like wolves and there was a pack of them. I do live in the mountains though, so this is not a stretch. :)Rena Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02328844122193024220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2910901195415494293.post-831071976981950202008-11-13T20:50:00.000-07:002008-11-13T20:50:00.000-07:00Sounds like a zoo!We have coyotes here in Cincinna...Sounds like a zoo!

We have coyotes here in Cincinnati. I'm always looking though. I'd love to see one in person.

Tracy -- Thanks! If you're sick and you have a sick husband, you're definitely exempt for today. ;) I hope you & Vince feel better soon. One of our neighbors has a dog that's part wolf too, but I am pretty sure there was a bunch of them by the noise they were making. I'll have to see if anyone else heard anything. So far, no one else did at my house.

Kelly -- Yeah, I agree with the stories lately. If they're not downright lies, they're trying to make up stuff to be funny. How are we to know what's true anymore? Kind of sad.Rena Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02328844122193024220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2910901195415494293.post-49114326462734568662008-11-13T11:50:00.000-07:002008-11-13T11:50:00.000-07:00Your yard is like wild kingdom! So all my niceness is gone! lol

Wild about the wolves though - we have 2 huge dogs that live in the house behind us who obviously have 'wolf' in their blood somewhere and they howl most nights. Gives the impression that we live in the country anyway!

TracyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2910901195415494293.post-19667178991364230622008-11-13T10:10:00.000-07:002008-11-13T10:10:00.000-07:00I've always heard that mountain lions sound like a...I've always heard that mountain lions sound like a baby crying when they are hurt...so be careful...whether coyotes, wolves or mountain lions...

I'll have to let Hazel know about this turkey recipe...we always take ours out and put it in the oven for a few minutes to brown it...seems more like a traditional turkey feast that way...grin..Brendahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11938209711584620272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2910901195415494293.post-41742250862168200022008-11-13T09:59:00.000-07:002008-11-13T09:59:00.000-07:00LOL Nancy! I can hardly take their picture without them seeing me and running off. They must have great eyesight!

Costco had boneless turkey breasts on sale recently, so we bought a couple of those. Maybe they're out chasing the turkeys your direction. hee You should go out a grab you a turkey for Thanksgiving. Nothing like a nice fresh one, although I don't think I'd want to boil it, pluck it and clean it. A good Butterball from the store works for me!

NancyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
