Making Amazing Art!

Back in February I found two craft books on sale at our local drugstore. I blogged about the first one here. That one is geared for younger kids, but I've found my boys enjoy the crafts in it. For them, simple is better.

The picture above is the second book. It's called Making Amazing Art! by Sandi Henry. It's geared for kids ages 7-13, but I think younger kids can do some of the projects as well as older kids. Adults might even have fun with it. The book features 40 activities using the 7 elements of art design ...
  1. line
  2. shape
  3. form
  4. color
  5. value
  6. texture
  7. space

We haven't done any of the activities yet, but I am scheduling them for next week. I think we'll start at the beginning and study the element of line design. Some of the projects include making a spider web, grid drawing, showing motion through lines, and kaleidoscope lines. If you're looking for a book that teaches about art design, this seems like a fun one. It's published by Williamson Books.
