Christmas Carnage ...

Of course, it's not as bad now -- it's worse. We've picked up most of the wrapping, but now the living room floor looks like a toy bomb exploded. When do you usually take down your tree or decorations? We've done it as early as the day after Christmas (dry tree = fire hazard) and as late as after New Year's Day. This year we set up our decorations around Thanksgiving. I don't know about you, but the month flew by. I am in no rush to take my decorations down yet. I'm sure they'll stay up until New Year's. Even if I wanted to, my outside nativity is frozen in the ground. Sometimes we have to wait a long time to get that put up. I hope everyone had a nice Christmas!

  1. LOL, that looks very familiar. We are picking up ours today too! With me having the daycare, I usually take it down New Year's Day so I don't have to worry about it anymore.

It looks like you had a great Christmas, we sure did.

  3. Wow - looks like our place! And I totally know what you mean about the toy bomb! Santa was very good to us this year - Ryan got a very big Hot Wheel track which is currently in the hall/playroom and den. lol I think it looks like a basement toy for sure! :)

There were 15 of us for dinner last night and Vince outdid himself. My job for the day was to keep the kids away from the kitchen so I got to play with toys all day - tough job but someone had to do it!

And leave it to my daughter - we were all playing and having fun when at 2:15pm, she came over, took my hand and said "Sorry - nap time!" Nothing changes my daughter's routine! lol

Merry Christmas and all the best for 2010!

  4. Now THAT'S what it's all about, paper everywhere! Because the 25th of December is the first day of Christmas I like to keep things up through January 6th, the Epiphany, also known as Three Kings Day, which is the Twelfth Day of Christmas. It would give you an excuse to keep all your Nativity sets up. Personally I think we should open our presents on the 6th because that's when Jesus got his from the Magi.

  6. We usually put up our tree after Thanksgiving, and take down after the New Year, too!

Have a great New Year, Rena!

  7. That's what I miss about having a child in the home...All the clean up afterward...grin.

My decorations go up at different times and come down at different times...all depends on what is going on that year...

This year I didn't get to decorate much so I've already taken everything down and things look like they did before the holidays...had to make room for me to play the Wii...grin...

Happy Holidays and Have a Safe and Wonderful New Year!
