Post Vacation Blues ...

One nice thing about homeschooling is that we've been able to finish school early and take our summer vacations before the big crowds come out. I've always loved that, especially when going to places like Yellowstone, which can get super crowded mid-summer. So, here I am now, suffering from Post Vacation Blues. It's not hard to see why if you look at this stupid picture of me. Floating down a lazy river in Disney's Blizzard Beach isn't exactly stressful. Of course, it might be next month when the crowds really start pouring in. However, I'm already itching to do something else and get out of the house again. Money is tight, as always, but we are planning a 2-night camping trip this weekend at a local lake. It's about an hour from where we live, if that. Rick and I drove out there yesterday to check out the campground. They recently added electric sites, which is good for us because Rick has to sleep with a CPAP machine. Not many places around here offer full or partial hook-ups. So anyway, we're expecting rain for the rest of the week and then Saturday and Sunday are supposed to be nice. I'm hoping we can get our kayaks out on the lake for the first time this year. How about you? Do you have any summer vacations planned? And also, are you like me and get the Vacation Blues after you take a trip?

  1. I have a vacation planned in three weeks. I am going to Kentucky for the first time ever!!! I am going to Louisville, and I absolutely cannot wait. So very excited. This is going to be the chance of a lifetime for me; and I am thrilled about having this opportunity. Of course, I do get Post Vacation Blues; but luckily I always take tons of pictures, and bring home probably way too many souvenirs, and lots and lots of stories. I have Post Graduation Blues right now. I guess I work myself up to pure excitement whenever something fun and meaningful is going to happen, and then I drop-hard. I need this trip though. The past week has been super-scary, so I need something to smooth off the very rough edges. I have other stuff on my mind too-and I am missing someone terribly too-non-family member; and I really don't know how to shake the missing part.......I have pictures with the person I am missing, but for some reason, it's really not enough to ease the missing.....so glad you had fun in Disney-and hope you have a blast camping!!! Hope the weather's fantastic for you too. :)

  3. Camping and kayaking sounds great! Enjoy!

I don't have any summer trips planned. (No money!) Hopefully it will warm up soon here. Then I can feel like I'm on vacation in my front yard. ;)
