Mystery Men ...

While wandering around the thrift store recently, Neil and I came across these two little figures. I thought for sure they were from the Fisher Price Little People's Nativity set. I collect nativities and have been wanting to get that set for years, so I couldn't pass these guys up.

When we got home, I went online to see if I could find a match for them. Nothing! I saw lots and lots of Fisher Price nativity sets, but NONE with figures like these. I was starting to think might be a knock-off version, but after looking around more, I don't think so. They're too well made, so if they are knock-offs, someone knows what they're doing. The weird thing is that there are no markings on the figures. I would expect to see a "FP" trademark, a number, or even just a "Made in China" statement. NOTHING.

If they are indeed made by Fisher Price, maybe they were an earlier version of the nativity set they have now. I'll keep looking because older sets show up from time to time. It struck me odd how I couldn't find these figures anywhere. In the meantime, I'll be scouring the thrift store for more. Maybe whoever donated had them tossed in a box with more, and just maybe the thrift store didn't get all the pieces out at the same time. So, my quest continues ...

  1. They definitely look like figures from a nativity scene. Maybe they're rare and valuable!

    1. Yes on the nativity, but I doubt they're rare with my luck. You never know though!

    1. I know! The internet usually brings something up. I see all the other figures, but not these specific ones. It's really weird.

  3. Looks like Fisher Price to me. My sister's kids had all the Fisher Price things when they were little (they were born in late 60s early 70s)the airports, parking garages etc and then when my kids were little she loaned them to me for them to play with. Then she started having grandkids and took them back. I don't know if they still have them or not. They sure were sturdy toys. Hope you find out something about them.

    1. I thought for sure they were FP men too, Janet. I still kind of think they are, although it is puzzling!
