Yesterday I was talking to some friends on Facebook about Melissa Gilbert marrying Timothy Busfield last year. I was a huge fan of Melissa's when I was a kid. I loved both the books and television show of Little House on the Prairie. I wore my hair in braids a lot too, so I could relate to Half Pint. Timothy played Eliot on the show thirtysomething, which I also loved.
All my life I thought of her as sort of a twin to me. Then yesterday I went looking on her Instagram account and saw the picture on the left below. It kind of freaked me out. I started looking at her pictures more and saw she posted ones of squirrels, cats, candy corn — you get the picture now, right? She's a lot prettier than I am, but I just thought it was kind of fun to see all the similarities. Do you think you look like someone famous? If so, who?
If you click the images, you can see them larger.
That's fun! She was/is so cute, so it's a fun person to look like!
ReplyDeleteI've been told that I look like Natalie Portman; as a teenager this drove me crazy, because I was a big original Star Wars fan and didn't like the new movies. :)
I can see that from your picture. :) I wasn't into the new movies when they came out, but I finally caved. Can't get enough of all of them now, even the animated Clone Wars.
DeletePssst -- (no, she's not a lot prettier than you are, although I do think she's MUCH prettier as an adult than she was as a child).
ReplyDeleteI went through a period where tons of people told me I look like Meryl Streep. And I do see it. But I don't know if it's as true anymore. The comments have stopped, at any rate.
Thanks, Marsha. :) I can see Meryl in your picture too. I was once told by a lady who worked at the post office that I reminded her of Ann-Margret. I think it was mostly because my hair was so much redder at the time. Who knows. :)
DeleteYou do look a lot like her! But YOU are prettier!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Ann Margret, my dad literally bumped into Ann Margret at a funeral last summer. She's from the town next to me. He braced her so she wouldn't fall, and she was very kind to him. And he didn't realize it was her until a few minutes later when someone told him!
Thanks, Kelly. That's really cool your dad met her. I've always admired her -- from her work with Elvis to being in Tommy with The Who. :)
DeleteYou do look like her!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melissa. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who saw it. :)
DeleteThere's an uncanny resemblance! And actually, I think you look prettier than her!
ReplyDeleteYes, I see the resemblance! This is nothing to brag about, but when I was little I looked just like the Campbell Soup girl. Mom missed her chance, she should have tried to get me in the Campbell soup commercials and made a lot of money.
ReplyDeleteThat's really cool, Janet. :)
