The Honest Scrap!

My blog has been awarded the Honest Scrap Award by Vivian. Scrap means left over, fragments, discarded material. Many times truth and honesty are discarded material, considered fragments and left over. People like us need to tell it like it is, and let the scraps fall where they will. There are 2 guidelines for receiving this award. One, you are to list 10 honest things about yourself. Make them interesting, even if you have to dig deep. Two, present the award to 7 other bloggers. I've listed things like this before, so I'm really going to have to dig deep here. Ten honest things about me are --
  1. I am very honest and don't like lying.
  2. I feel guilty if I accidently cut someone off in my car.
  3. I failed my driving test the first time.
  4. I got a ticket for speeding once.
  5. I am conservative and very old-fashioned.
  6. I read Ann Coulter's books.
  7. I was with a girl who shoplifted and we got caught.
  8. I don't like having my picture taken.
  9. I don't like crude humor in kid's movies.
  10. I know how painful it is to lose a pet.

The following list are those I feel are deserving of this award. They're people who aren't afraid to say it how they see it, those who tell the Honest Scrap. I know a lot of people who deserve this, but I can only list 7 of them --

  1. Sharon
  2. Dee
  3. Bish
  4. Carrie
  5. Renata
  6. Jacqui
  7. Sunshine

You can use the Honest Scrap Award logo on your blog, providing you follow the guidelines and list 10 honest things about yourself and nominate 7 other bloggers. Have fun, be honest and keep telling it like it is!

  2. Thanks so much, Rena! I love your answers, particularly the way you did a combination of confessions and feelings.

Hmm. Now I have to think of my own list...

  3. I'm a terrible liar, so I don 't! (and I'd feel bad about it, too!).. I also feel bad if I accidentally cut off someone, I say "Sorry! Sorry!" even if only I can hear it! But I do have to say it is hard for me to be blunt. I think sometimes I say nothing at all rather say something conflicting. (Unless it's family :0)

  4. Interesting honest things, but only one that surprises me, just a tiny bit - the shoplifting caper. I'm not surprised that the "friend" was the shoplifter.

  5. Sunshine -- You're welcome!

Jacqui -- I've always thought of you as a "tell it like you see it person" from your blog, so you can to mind right away.

Kelly -- I'm a horrible liar too. So bad it's not even worth try, which is a good thing. LOL!

Vivian -- Yeah, that particular girl wasn't a good influence on me. It was during the one year I was in Catholic school too and the nuns sure let us have it. My friend said she was going to buy a candy bar in the grocery store and then after picking one out, she darted out the door. I just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time with the very wrong person. Cripes.

  7. LOL Tracy! And to top it off, I was engaged to a cop at the time! The officer didn't believe me because I didn't have any of Rick's business cards with me. Man, that was a crazy day. I had worked from 1am to 9am at the pet clinic and I listed to a little yippy dog bark ALL NIGHT LONG! I just wanted to get home ... ugh.

  8. Thank you Rena. I am so honored. I love your answers! I can so much relate to not liking crude humor in kids movies. It seems as though that line is crossed too much.

  12. Oh Rena - I'd love that Rum Ball recipe.

And, I tried to read Ann Coulter's Godless - but it was so negative - I couldn't get through it. Give me Stephen King any day - but real life negativity - I can't do it. :(
