One year ago today ...

It was exactly one year ago today on December 20th that I took some pictures of Belle sitting in front of our Christmas tree. Sadly, we had to put her to sleep in March -- just one day after her 17th birthday. It's been a sad year without her. We talk about her a lot, especially how she hated everything. I just know she's in Kitty Heaven hating everyone and everything. That's what we loved about her. That and the little orange streak up her nose. This is one of my favorite pictures of her.

A few weeks ago I took the one below of Denny. Kind of ironic, don't you think? I think Belle and Denny would have gotten along well. She would have hated him just like she did everything else. I miss her.

  1. It's tough losing a pet, and then revisiting old pics. But, I like how you took a new one with your other cat, sort of a passing of the guard thing. Beautiful cats, both of them.

  2. Wow..she lived to a ripe old age and must have given you years of pleasure and enjoyment. Sorry for your loss.

I’ve been following and enjoying your blog for a while now and would like to invite you to visit and perhaps follow me back. Sorry I took so long for the invitation.

  3. Look how nicely both are sitting in front of the tree! I know it's so hard to lose Belle, but I know Denny is giving you so much joy right now!
    Your tree looks pretty, too!

  4. That's one of the hard things about the holidays - not sharing them with loved ones we've lost. But new memories will fill that void - it's Denny's turn to step up to the plate.

  5. I know how you feel. I lost my dog, Ike, last February. He was my furry kid. This x-mas I'll think of all the good times we shared, all the love! Merry X-mas, Rena. And a happy, happy New Year. (Our furry friend's will greet us again one day...)

  7. My mom had the exact same breed of cat and had to put her asleep this summer. It's always hard around the holidays.

How did you get them to stay still in front of the tree? Ours always wanted to scale them like little furry King Kongs.
