More Death Valley ...

Just recently I blogged about visiting Death Valley National Park in California. You can click here for the original post. We've only been there one time, but if I ever get back down that way, it's one place I'd love to go back to. I was digging through some boxes of photographs today when I came across a bunch from that trip. Rather than post them all, I made a quick slide show of some of them. There's a few pictures where the ground is really rocky. That's the Devil's Golf Course that I mentioned before. Some of the canyon shots might look familiar to you if you've ever seen Star Wars IV. They filmed some of the movie there, such as R2D2 rolling through the canyons right before the sand people got him. I hope you enjoy seeing some of the other pictures from our trip to Death Valley National Park.

  1. Very cool pictures of Death Valley. I think I saw R2D2's tracks! :) I like the way when the slide show changes pictures, it looks like the other picture evaporates in the Death Valley heat!

  2. The terrain is really amazing. Some of it's rocky and craggy and other parts seem really sandy. The whole thing is wild. Including the psychedlic picture changing animation.

  3. I've never been to Death Valley But its on my TO DO WHILE I'M STILL ALIVE list. Cool pictures. I see beaty in a barren wasteland because I know there is life there. Saw it on National Geographic Plants, bugs, lizards, scorpions, birds, and such. There is a diverse eco-systeme there.

  4. Rena,
I believe you posted a comment on our TeachingAuthors blog today, but I'm not seeing it right now. Unfortunately, some of the links in today's post are wrong. I think this is the one Esther meant for the bookmarks:

  6. I bet we passed each other, Rena. Just did a post about our visit to Death Valley and those rocks and canyons look very familiar.

We were lucky to catch the wildflower show in Lancaster and I posted those on my blog.

  7. Great pictures as always. Isn't it Death Valley that there is a place where rocks move by theselves? I've seen it on tv, but not sure if it's there or not. Interesting though.
