A few people have received Lemur Troops & Critter Troops already. I'm expecting some copies to arrive any day. I can't wait to see this book! There are a couple of reviews on Amazon already and I have to admit, I was blown away by them. As I read them, all I could think was, "Wow! They're talking about my book!" Click here to read them for yourself.
As I have said before, Nikki Shoemaker has done an incredible job illustrating this book. It's not so much a story as it is a collection of rhymes. And like the first reviewer said, "The pictures turn the one sentence on the page into a more detailed story about those animals." She hit the nail on the head with that one. As much as I'd love to take credit for some amazing writing here, Nikki's illustrations totally make this book.
For those who have ordered the book and have not received it yet, you should get your copy soon. My publisher was stranded from her home during the recent blizzard. Not only that, but UPS sent her first shipment to the wrong address, so that delayed things more. She's getting the books shipped now, so they should arrive soon. I am so excited to see this book in print. My cats, Belle & Kitty make their debut in it along with Nikki's cat. Look for the kitty cops! We're hoping the fame doesn't go to their fluffy little heads. Nikki and I will be doing a book blog tour soon as well as some give-aways. We hope you will join us for that.
If you haven't ordered the book and would like to, click on the cover on the right of my blog or visit my website. Both will link you to 4RV Publishing, LLC. Lemur Troops & Critter Groups is also available through Amazon. You can get it through any local bookseller also by bringing in the ISBN numbers and they can order it. I hope you enjoy Book 1 of the series!
That must be such a great feeling, having people reading and enjoying your book! I'm very happy for you.ReplyDelete
Congrates on your book! All the hard work has paid off and kids can now enjoy reading it.ReplyDelete
Congratulations Rena! I think I can see waaaaaaaaay way off in the distance, someone doing the happy dance.ReplyDelete
You are TOO kind!!!
I hope it is everything they say it is!
I am so nervous to see it!!!
Wow! It looks amazing!!! I bet you are just bouncing off your seat to see it. Congratulations!ReplyDelete
Awesome reviews Rena! Can't wait to get our copy - I have already told Ryan about it and while he really wants a new Dilly he said he would like to check this one out too! (High praise from a 4 year old!)ReplyDelete
*Oh and I quote "he would like you to set you next book in ancient Egypt please." :)
Lemur Troops & Critter Groups is an awesome book, the rhyme and the illustrations.ReplyDelete
Hey, may I interview your and Nikki's cats for the blog tour?
Congrats Rena! I"m so happy for you. You deserve it. I can't wait to get my copy!ReplyDelete
P.S. You totally need to volunteer for my Critter to come visit you! How perfect would it be for a Critter author to have an interactive-artist-blog-experiment-critter come to visit you and go snow shoeing and all the fun nature stuff that you do! :0)
Luv you Rena! Sorry I have't been around as much. Have a Happy New Year.
Vivian -- That would be awesome if you could interview the cats. What a fun idea!
Christy -- I'd love to host Critter sometime. I'll have to check out your blog and see where he is now. Didn't he just leave South Korea?
Please let me know dates, etc., and I'll come up with questions for the cats. Oh, what are their names?ReplyDelete
All the best for 2010.ReplyDelete
our moon was a lovely golden colour today if it was blue we could not see it in our clear sky of today,
Life in Egypt -- I bet the golden color was pretty to see. Another friend of mine in California said it looked pink this morning. We're getting snow, so I can't see it, but it was bright enough to light up the yard even as early as 3am.ReplyDelete
Vivian -- My cats are Belle and Kitty. Not sure about Nikki's, but I'm sure she'll let you know. They'll be honored to be featured in an interview. Hopefully, all the fame won't go to their furry little heads!
Congratulations Rena! I can't wait until mine finally comes in the mail! I'll post a review on my blog when I get it!ReplyDelete
You must be thrilled. Way to go! And Nikki too! Woo!
