This is my driveway ...

If I'm not mistaken, I'd say ... fall has fallen! It's funny, but it didn't look like that yesterday. I guess they all decided to fall at once. Our western larch trees are finally starting to turn yellow too. I blogged about those last year. These are pine trees that have needles that turn yellow before falling off for the winter. They're also known as Tamaracks. The forests look really pretty when they turn bright yellow. However, the needles get tracked in everywhere, so they're pretty messy. Looks like Rick might have to get out the rake this weekend. The lawn is just as bad ...

  1. Rake? He'll need a push broom as well, from the looks of it!

  3. Hey - leaves make good mulch...um, right? lol I love this time of year - we took a drive this week to see some of the 'fall colours' and they were so lovely. And this is about the only time of year that I am happy my yard is the size of a postage stamp! :)
    Happy Autumn!

  4. I LOVE the fall. Last week, however, we had a MASSIVE snowstorm that knocked out power ALL over town. The leaves were still on the trees, and branches were everywhere. Honestly, it was like a TORNADO passed through here.......

  5. That is funny, because I looked at my backyard when I got home from school and thought to myself, "Look at all those leaves!"

  6. our whole street looks like this and it's been raining for three days! So no one can mow/mulch or rake or anything. Got to be careful on wet leaves, they are actually pretty slippery!

  7. Hi Amanda -- thanks for stopping by. I hear you on the rain and wet leaves. I took this picture this morning and it started raining soon after. It's a big mess out there now. LOVE your blog, btw!!!

  8. I actually love all the colors. It looks like a work of art - okay modern art - but, still art :)

  9. The only leaves that have turned here are the ones that have been stressed by the drought. But...fall is not too far away. We are already dipping into the 40's in the morning.

We have bald cypress here that turn a rusty red before dropping their needles.

  11. I guess I took that picture too early. It rained all day yesterday and now the wind has picked up. I'd say there are 3x the leaves on the driveway now. You can't even see the asphalt anymore.

  12. Our driveway and yard are full off colorful leaves...I always think it looks like a patchwork quilt. We live in the woods, so it would be a full time job for Hubs to rake (you notice I did not say me...grin)...Hugs...
