Chocolate chili?

Most of you know that I love hot, spicy foods. In addition, I love chocolate. Since blogging about chocolate the other day, I've been wanting to try one of those chocolate bars with chili. I've seen various brands around, so I guess they must be pretty popular. I decided on the Lindt Excellence Chili brand. It's dark chocolate infused with premium red chili. It's not hot, but it does have a unique flavor to it, and the chocolate is super smooth. If you want something different, this is definitely worth trying. Mmmm!

  1. So when you say it is not hot, is that the 'person who can eat a jalepeno without blinking' person or what? For me, I find my eyes watering when I walk by someone eating a pepper... so I am assuming this would be 'hot' for me! lol

Enjoy your chili chocolate Rena... I guess I will stick with my Caramilk bar! lol

  2. No, it's not hot, not even a bit. It has a unique flavor, but it's hard to explain. Heck, I had to eat 4 bars just to try to figure it out. Whoops -- there goes another 200 calories! But no, it's not hot at all, not even spicy or anything. It's really good actually.

  3. Ooohhhhh! I love that! In St. Louis, they have this fabulous little place called "The Chocolate Bar." Everything they serve there is geared toward chocolate. From Martinis to decadent desserts. Anyhoo, they had the most incredible chocolate truffle made the same way. It was heavenly!

  7. Okay maybe it's like Starbucks Signature salted caramel hot chocolate - sounds weird - but is super duper yummy.

  8. I've done a bit of research on chocolate. The Maya and Aztec, and the earlier Indians of Central America, were the original chocaholics. They did not sweeten their chocolate. They made a frothy drink spiked with...hot pepper! It was the Europeans who were the first to add sweeteners. In fact it was nuns who made the first chocolate candy (in the New World) and sold to help raise money.
